Donna holds a Masters degree in acupuncture from the Tristate College of Acupuncture in Manhattan and is certified in Chinese herbal medicine. She is licensed to practice acupuncture in New York and is certified by the National Commission for Certification of Acupuncturists and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Donna’s connection and motivation to pursue this career is very personal. Back in her twenties, Donna experienced heart issues and discovered that sugar can cause a myriad of problems including heart valve problems. After removing sugar from her diet and learning the value of whole foods, her health issues passed, and her passion for nutrition was born. Subsequently, she discovered she had ovarian cysts and, not wanting to have surgery, she turned to Chinese herbal medicine and the cysts disappeared. Years later, she went to an acupuncturist for infertility and was able to have two children with the help of Chinese herbs and acupuncture. It was then that Donna decided to study the comprehensive system of study of Chinese medicine with a focus on nutrition. She has experienced the life-changing effects of holistic medicine herself, and now devotes her life to sharing her knowledge with others.
Donna sees clients at Blum Center for Health on Mondays.
