Jennifer L. Jennings, DNP is delighted to join the diverse and experienced team at the Blum Center for Health. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a doctoral degree in nursing practice (DNP), an IFM Certified Practitioner, and a diplomate for the American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). She is passionate about functional medicine and has been actively applying these principles in her own clinical practice for over 10 years.
She struggled with her own diagnosis of Hashimoto’s and adrenal dysfunction and SIBO 20 yrs. ago. She explored functional medicine for her own health journey and observed her body healing through dietary changes, stress management, GI healing and key supplements as well as bioidentical thyroid management. She knew in that moment that the foundations of functional medicine were the comprehensive medicine that she wanted to discover, learn and deliver to her patients.
Her prior clinical experience includes several years of level one trauma, neurosurgical critical care, emergency medicine, primary care, and cardiothoracic surgery. In addition to her clinical experience, she has been an Assistant Professor within the Graduate Department of Nursing at Georgetown University, School of Nursing and Health Studies in Washington, DC. Additionally, she has corporate healthcare experience acting as a Corporate Manager of Clinical Education as part of the Nurse Executive team, servicing 5 hospital sites and overseeing all aspects of clinical education for Kaleida Health, with thousands of employees.
Jennifer sees patients across a wide variety of medical conditions with a specialty in integrative treatment for lyme disease, mold exposure and integrative cancer treatment.
Jennifer brings with her unique experience and an innate ability to connect with patients- and believes a positive connection between the patient and provider can ultimately help contribute to the best outcomes. She enjoys practicing the holistic lifestyle she instills in her patients; organic and medicinal gardening, tending to chickens, bees, and even peafowl. She also loves being in nature and practices regular meditation, has been on Ski patrol and certified in outdoor Emergency Medicine. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, hiking and getting her hands in the dirt. Jennifer looks forward to connecting with patients of the Blum Center and walking with them on their health journeys.
