“My specialty is where humans perceive their environment, where the brain reaches out to explore the surrounding world. If you have chronic facial pain, itchy eyes or sore throat, it colors your entire sense of well-being. This is where otolaryngologists have the potential to dramatically improve a patient’s life.”
Dr. Gereau is a surgeon in the sub-specialty of Otolaryngology (Ear Nose and Throat). She has additional postgraduate training in Pediatric Otolaryngology, Allergy, Integrative Medicine and Functional Medicine. This background makes her uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat all variety of diseases of the head and neck.
Dr. Gereau started her medical career in East Harlem as a National Public Health Corps physician. Her residency and fellowship were at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. She served as Director of the Pediatric ENT Clinic at Jacobi Medical Center and the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center, where she was awarded The Marvin Schevy Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching.
Dr Gereau received her formal training in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. During her 22 years as a surgeon, Dr. Gereau tackled all varieties of ENT disorders. She now practices non-surgical Otolaryngology with knowledge amassed in the areas of allergy, immunotherapy, herbs and supplements, cranio-sacral and myo-fascial therapies. These methodologies allow her to assess and treat many of the same illnesses that she previously approached with a scalpel – only now with diet, nutraceuticals, allergy drops and myofascial manipulation.
