Following that we will move at a slow and steady pace with standing poses which allow for focus on breath and alignment while simultaneously improving strength and flexibility. We will return back down to the mat finishing with poses that prepare the body for relaxation. This class is a balance of challenge and ease. This inclusive practice helps to reduce stress and anxiety, revitalize energy, calm the mind, and increase creativity. No meditation or yoga experience necessary. All levels welcome. This technique is practiced laying down. Please have a blanket and pillow ready for class. This virtual class is free for all current patients of Blum Center for Health. Just like a regular yoga practice, Chair yoga increases flexibility, strength and body awareness. Students can experience the many benefits of yoga without having to get up or down from the floor. When standing poses are included in a Chair yoga class, the chair is used to help with and improve balance. Chair yoga will also include pranayama breathing techniques and meditation to promote focus, mental clarity and relaxation.
